re-defining beauty

It has been my own personal experience that I think we need to re-think beauty. What it means to be beautiful.
I suppose on some level, a guy saying the word beautiful might be strange. It's just like the word handsome. But I prefer beautiful.
There are so many things in this world that affect us. And in a very real sense, we're told what is beauty, and what is not.

For a man to appear handsome, or good looking, he should have a six-pack, with all the 'right' clothes..
For a woman to be beautiful, she has to be thin (to a major degree) to the point that she looks anorexic.

This may be a shock, but not everyone has a six-pack. And not everyone is thin.
I used to be. Not so much anymore. Does this mean that I myself am not beautiful?

I don't think that's right. Why can't we be beautiful because we care about people. Because we want to see them smile.
It's become a sad thing I think. I hate the word fat. Honestly, I just hate that word.

You can judge me because I have a stomach. Go ahead. Do it. Come on. DO IT! Right now!

Thank you! Thanks for saying that about me. You can think you're beautiful or handsome because you've got great abs. Because you can buy everyone a round of drinks. Because you can stare at other women's breasts when your wife leaves the table. You are selfish.
You objectify women, like they're tools. Women have feelings. They are human beings on this planet, same as you.

Self-image, self-worth and confidence doesn't just affect women. It happens with men as well. I'm one of them.
I know people must look at me and think what a piece of shit I look like. It's okay... <---More of my depression talking.

Honestly, I'm coming to a point in my life where I no longer care what people think.
Honestly, I do have a lot of self-hate. And self-loathing. But I'm trying to quit that.

Be beautiful on the inside, as well as the outside.
Tell someone they're beautiful. Encourage someone. If someone's having a bad day, let them vent. If you want to cry, go ahead and cry. It's okay. I promise.

We need to re-think beautiful. And what it means.
Have a nice personality.
Having an ugly heart that judges people, calling them stupid or ugly .. If you do that, then you aren't beautiful. At least in my book..

I will love you, even if you do hate me. Even if you think I should die. Even if you hate me so much..
I'll love you. Because I'm tired of hate. Tired of hating..
